I paid just over $28.00, including shipping, for this neat little LCR meter. It appears to be identical to the one that MFJ Enterprises (a US mfgr. and supplier of Amateur Radio equipment and devices) charges $79.95 for as their catalog no. MFJ-200A. I bought the unit to quickly and conveniently check values of capacitors and inductors primarily used in RF transmitting and receiving applications, i.e., capacitors of less than 1000pF and coils/inductors of less than 100uH. It does well for those and for higher value components that I've tried thus far. It's much easier to use than my considerably larger and heavier General Radio LCR instrument. The short test leads that it comes with have odd-ball banana plugs on the ends which have a loose fit in the panel jacks, causing errors and other problems. I replaced the leads with ones I made up (about 4 inches long) using standard banana plugs and alligator clips. No instructions were received with the unit. But, if you have technical knowledge at a level where you are needing an LCR meter, you should be able to easily figure out how to use it. The On-Off switch on the side is labeled "AC" for the up position and "DC" for down. If you are using only internal batteries (size AA), the up position becomes "on" and down position is "off." It will also shut off automatically if left on and not used for a few minutes. The meter is certainly not of rugged construction but for the price, you can't beat it.Read full review

Initially couldn't get it to switch on, emailed seller who directed me to online manual in Chinese and non translatable. Finally switched it on using selector set to AC rather than DC even though on battery power. When measuring known inductor values the meter measures @ 20% low so cannot be trusted. The connectors are very short and wobble in their sockets - I have just left it in a drawer.

I got this LC meter as I needed a way to measure inductance. I didn't believe the specs, but decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised with this meters' performance. It is able to measure capacitance to less than 1pf and very low inductance as well. The best feature is the test frequency used for the lower value measurements. I've seen it as high as 700KHz plus. You want these higher testing frequencies for more accurate results. Great value, get one!

The LC200A is a great device for sorting parts during kit building and when winding coils at hf or higher frequencies. It would be killer great if accurate and stable standards were used to allow measurement accuracy to approach those claimed

This meter performed quite well. It is very accurate, is nicely made, and is an incredible value. Be advised that you will need to download the operating instructions and provide your own AC adapter as these are not included. I would definately buy again
