Composition and music theory needed
This journal literally has everything need to write a song. Notes as well as space for lyrics. Very impressed. It even has an area for guitar chords. The book has an attached elastic band that keeps the hardcovers shut. While this book is excellent for any songwriter, if you do not have a knowledge of music composition and music theory this book will be way to much for you. If lyrics is all a person is wanting to do buy a notebook. This is actually a book for writing actual songs and composing the musical composition along with it.

Great place, not my favorite format
I wanted a place to record songs that I write and keep them in one place. I like that I can write lyrics, chords, and as I work up to it even the melody. I would have chosen a slightly different format though. I like seeing the chords over the words and the way this is formatted there isn't room to do that. More talented musicians may find it useful as is. It works, but with some slight chances it would work better for me.
