I used to have a competitors trunk on my old bike and this one is nearly as nice at a fifth of the price. It will hold a few items from the grocery store or a full face helmet perfectly. It fits my Eton Matrix just fine and was easy to mount. I didn't have to do any modifications, it just bolted right on. It also pops on and off so you can take in inside with you. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice trunk and have limited funds. Don't let the cost fool you. It's a quality product.

I This Emgo tail trunk is perfect for my needs. Living in Mexico in a small town it is very hard and sometimes dangerous to use my full size touring bike, Yamaha Venture, in town. So I decided to make a mini bagger for town use. I started with my Yamaha 250 and added a windshield, rear rack and saddlebags but I still needed more carrying capacity when I go to the Market. The Yamaha is small and I used the Emgo trunk, turned sideways to fit and complete my project. With the bike on it's side stand the lean helps keep the top of the trunk open while I load up. I also added a sand pad on the bottom of the side stand as lots of the parking lots are crushed gravel and this helps stabilize the bike. I mounted a 1/2" plastic piece to rack, with bolts and locknuts, mounted the Emgo tail trunk mounting piece to the plastic piece with bolts and locknuts. I also used two bolts with locknuts drilled through bottom of Emgo trunk, mounting pad and plastic piece to keep it secure.Read full review

Was sturdier than I thought it would be. Perfect size and fits a helmet. The base plate plastic is a bit on the brittle side but seems quite sturdy. I cranked it on pretty hard and heard a tiny snap noise so hoping it was a minor flex as I didn’t see a crack. Love that it comes with a universal mounting plate. When looking into other top boxes, the pricing was pretty high especially when u had to buy the rack/mounting plate separately!

Decent top box for the money. I can fit any of my helmets in it with quick and dirty rain gear and gloves stuffed in the remaining nooks and crannies, The lock and case release mechanism work well and it mounts and releases easily. I saw some Amazon reviews where folks had said the case came off during riding. I can't really see that happening unless it's overloaded. This is a lighter duty screw to plate mount so if you are going to be doing rough offroad riding I would not put more than about 10 pounds of gear in it. It could possibly flex enough to come off the single locking point. Also - make sure the plate sits flat on your rack. If it gets cinched down bowed it will probably break - plastic. Pretty happy with it over all. Yes - you;ll wan to pull the cheesy Emgo stickers ;-).

Case is excellent for the price. The mounting plate is not so great but works fine if you treat it with care. I’ve used them for years, they keep the water out and protect my stuff. A XXL full face helmet fits if you set it upside down. I modified a Givi Monokey case bracket to use with a BMW r1150r.
