The Sonos Sub is a very well designed and has excellent performance in combination with the Sonos One speaker. Don't let anyone tell you that it doesn't help that much and that the bass from any Sonos speakers is adequate. This speaker supplies the fundamental bottom octave of any musical source and is absolutely required in home theater applications. You will not so much be able to hear that bass, but you will *feel* it. I can't speak for the soundbars or the Play 3 because I only own the Ones, but I know audio and I know that the soundbars and the Play 3 cannot play fundamentals below 50Hz. Without that, you have to imagine special effects in movies and real bass in music. With the Sub, you can actually feel those effects and the depth of orchestras - much less jazz and rock. You don't have to imagine anything. I measured the Sub and it does play down into the 20Hz range solidly. I was quite surprised in that respect. Still, the value is a problem. $699 from Sonos direct it a LOT of scratch when better subs cost $400-500. BUT, TruePlay and the Sonos integration system balance the equation. Another subwoofer and the Sonos Connect (not to mention having to configure the subwoofer) to make it all work would bring the price above what Sonos is charging for the Sub alone - and Sonos knows that. Hence, they can get away with charging whatever the market will bear. The Sub, in my book, is worth $500 and nowhere near $700. But, Sonos can get away with it. And that's why I got mine on eBay for $75 less (with no tax or shipping) than retail... :) Read full review

Sound level varies wildly between sources of audio. Does not facilitate clarity of dialogue very well. Several inches tall obscuring lower part of TV picture. It seems best suited for loud, action packed explosions, gunfire, car chases, etc. Not a very good purchase.

Fantastic addition to my Sonos Sound Bar. Very nice looking speaker that produces fantastic bass even at low volumes. Setup is very fast and easy via the Sonos app. Up and running in under 5 minutes. My sub is placed behind some furniture and it produces room filling bass. Very happy with my purchase.

I am already a huge fan of Sonos products. They connect seamlessly and sound awesome! This subwoofer creates a truly dynamic sound in my family room. I have it paired to a Sonos Amp that play through ceiling speakers. What a great sound!

If you have the Sonos Beam using as a sound bar you think it has good bass and you don't need anything else. Wrong it is the ultimate addition that you will not regret as it really improves the listening pleasure of the system. Sonos is simple to hook up and works like Apple products. It just works

Great deep sound! Not as easy to set up with the Sonos sound bar and one speakers it is made out to be. Once paired with everything the home theater sound is amazing! Nice deep bass to this speaker!
