Started out with plastic ones, but grew to love the glass ones too over time. The glass ones don't "break down" or stain as easily as the plastic ones after years of cleaning and abuse from the kids. So far after 4 children we haven't broken any, but that was definitely a concern when first trying them out. Surprisingly, they can take some abuse. The 8oz glass bottles on the other hand I don't know.... still not sure if they can take a big fall.
