Took door off hinge to install. Once door hung back on frame, leveled dog door before tighten screws. Bought large size for my Shar pei. My 10 lb Chihuahua can easily use it. Hung Weather Extreme Dog Door in wooden kitchen door that leads to breeze way. I have a cheaper dog door that goes from breeze way to outside(will replace this one with Extreme Dog Door before next winter. I live in New England.

we had a medium sized regular door by the same manufacturer, but the dogs wore it out. i decided to upgrade to a larger insulated model. this was an extreme let down. the sleeve that goes between the two outer panels is made up of four individual pieces that are supposed to snap in to the outer panels. they do not "snap" in making it very difficult to place the opposite side in position and start the fasteners all while straddling the door. our previous model had one half of the sleeve molded into each half of the outer panel and slipping into one another for installation. the package comes with two pieces of weatherstripping but no explanation as to where to place them.
