    Versatile and Well Worth Having

My disabled hubby absolutely depends on this flashlight for its versatility and has purchased this one to add to his same other two. It is bright when needed or can be adjusted to fit the need. It is lightweight, and hubby wears it in its case attached to his gait belt for quick and easy access when needed. Because it can use either of two different sized batteries, we can be assured that a battery will be available on hand for replacement, because hubby is really dependant on this particular flashlight for many uses in his every day life. Reasonably priced and well worth having. Buy one and try it...It works great for any occassion.

Good, but input method is not intuitive and is bigger/heavier than many AA lights

Pros: -Comes with a carrying pouch -good brightness -It has a two-bend belt clip so that it can be clipped in either direction, or possibly clipped to the brim of a cap. -Color is a bit warmer (i.e. more yellow-y) than many "neutral white" lights I have used, which is a plus for me. -good balance between wide flood and good throw on the center hotspot. -build quality is excellent and feels durable, although I have yet to test this rigorously. Cons: -ability to use either a CR123 or a AA means that it is a bit longer than many CR123 flashlights, but also wider and heavier than many AA lights. Still pretty small and lightweight, but definitely a smidgen bigger and heavier than other similar flashlights of either battery type. -I found the "tentaps" input method confusing at first, and the instructions do not explain it well. From the "off" position, you have to give it two half-clicks, then click and hold to reach the low brightness setting, which I find not intuitive. -The default mode order is high-strobe-low, so this means that you have to cycle through the high and strobe modes just to get to the low mode and dazzle your vision in the process. This also makes it easy to accidentally set it on the strobe mode when you meant to go to the low brightness mode. I immediately set it to the 3rd programmable setting of low-high. -I wish it had a third lower brightness setting for conserving battery for indoor use etc. where high brightness isn't necessary

  • Great light

This light is small compact but packs a punch on brightness. it is 350 lumens which is really bright. for the size. Its an EDC (everyday carry flashlight) It is Ergonomic lightweight and overall a ten. The features are great and its easy to use and change them. For the price its most likely one of the best options in the market. The size is amazing in comparison to the brightness.

  • Excellent flashlight for the money

For starters the clip is sturdy, with dual purpose bends. Meaning it will clip to your pocket and your hat. The programmable lighting feature I like. I am not in need of a strobe, so the fact that I can program it out is a plus. The fact that it can accept a standard AA battery as back up is great in a pinch, although Lumen output is Reduced to 150 on high, it is better than being stuck with no light.

  • Best in class flashlight

As an owner of several high end flashlights, I must say that this is one was and instant favorite. It seems very well made and is super lightweight and super bright. This flashlight maximizes the potential of a single battery. It's great to have a choice between the convenience of using a standard AA battery or a single CR123 battery. The run times are also phenomenal. I do not think you could do better for a flashlight of this type.

  • Great light

Small but bright and versatile with the ability to use either Cr123 (350 lumen) or AA (150 lumen) batteries. Only had it about 2 weeks so I can't speak to the durability of this light specifically, but I have other Streamlight flash lights and they have all given me real good service and I don't see this one being any different. I have one old Streamlight Scorpion so old the rubber cover has worn off and it's still a good light even though it's way behind the tech advances of this light.

  • Excellent flashlight! Dual fuel capability is also a nice feature

Very bright with CR123A Lithium Battery. Also nice to have the ability to use AA batteries as backup. Flashlight is well made. Light is nice and even. Highly recommended!

  • Bright light

I purchased this light to replace another light I've had for a couple years. The price seemed a little high but the ability to use either a AA battery or the 123 camera battery was a selling point to me. The light is bright with either battery in it. The only thing would change is the light is difficult for me to grip. Other than that the light is awesome.

  • Would of given it 5 stars but....

Very nice and bright - even with the AA battery. Seems durable too. My only complaint is I struggle switching from high to stobe to low using the push button. Still working on mastering this with the rubber button - otherwise would of given this light 5 stars.

  • Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA EDC Tactical Flashlight

The Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA is one of my favorite flashlights because it does so many things well. This small light fits well in the palm of my hand and is just long enough to protract slightly when gripped. It sells for between about $40-$60 and generates a 350 lumen beam with 6,500 candelas. The dual fuel option was a huge factor in my decision to purchase this light. The front and read caps have a semi-aggressive pattern that would be effective if it was used as a striking weapon. The grip areas of the light was knurled to make it easy to grip. * Construction: The 1L-1AA is machined from aircraft grade aluminum and has a fairly aggressive striking pattern on both the head and tail. The threads are tight and very smooth and an O-ring provides additional water sealing. * Size: At 4.5" long and 0.95" diameter (head, 0.85" barrel) it is small enough to fit in my pants pocket but large enough to fit with width of my palm. The diameter is just large enough for my fingers to wrap around the body of the light. * Batteries: A HUGE advantage of the 1L-1AA is it can use either a CR123 battery to produce 350 lumens or a AA to produce 150 lumens. I use the CR123 but it is nice to know that I could use a AA as a backup. The lower battery contact is spring loaded to accommodate the larger AA battery directly. This feature distinguishes this light from all others that I have seen. * Waterproof: IPX7 waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes. * Durability: Withstands 1-meter drop. * Price: $40-$60 which is a very fair price for a flashlight of this quality. * Features: High/strobe/low modes and Ten-Tap Programming to switch to High/Low or Low/High mode. * Beam Pattern: 40" x 7" at 3' * Power Fail: No low battery indicator and the flashlight will fail when the AA battery gets to 1.18v, or the CR-123 battery gets to 2.83v. If you want an everyday carry (EDC) flashlight then this is normally the one that I recommend. It is a good size for most people, generates a bright beam, and uses duel fuel. If you have larger hands then consider the Streamlight 2L or one of the longer flashlights. ----- Advantages ----- This is my personal everyday carry (EDC) light. I took months deciding which flashlight to purchase and this was my choice. I keep trying to find a better light and I keep coming back to this one. Some of the reasons I really like this flashlight: * 350 lumens on high and 40 lumens on low * Aluminum construction with tactical bezels on the front and back * Small size allows me to easily conceal it in my pants pocket * Large enough to fit all the way across my palm * Double sided clip * Dual battery so I can use an AA if necessary ----- Disadvantages ----- This is still my favorite flashlight but there are a few minor flaws in this product. * No low battery indicator: This light will work fine until the batteries get low and then it will stop working with very little warning. If you needed to light in a tactical situation and the batteries were low you may have a completely non-working light. * Others have reported that the clip will easily lose its shape and not grip the body of the light over time. I have not experienced these issues and have been carrying the flashlight daily for well over a year. * The light does not tail-stand easily. While this is a disadvantage if you want to tail-stand the light it means that the button is easier to press use to less material on the back of the light. These are minor disadvantages and should NOT dissuade you from purchasing this light. This is still my favorite everyday carry flashlight.
