This knife is actually made for case by Ontario Knife Company. Ontario is yhe sole supplier of fighting knives to the Marine Corps. The only difference beyween this knife and the actual current issue knife is the leather handle's finish. The current knife is black finished and the case ww2 knife has brown finish to the handle. The blade is tge same except its stamped Case. The learher sheath is very nice. It's thick and rigid with nuce embossed markings. The knife is more similar to original ww2 knives than a current kabar produced knife. The kabar is nicer looking and finished better, but this case is a true fighting knife with sharpened swedge. The edge required a touch up since it was not razor sharp. All in all its a good heavy duty knife.

Bought this knife new not used. When it came, the blade was dull (I can run my finger up the blade), it also has burrs up the blade. I contacted Case, their Warranty and Repair department several days ago and have yet to hear back from them. I have been a Case customer for years (have about 50 Case knives and Straight Razors in my collection) and have never seen this poor of quality in a Case knife. I can't describe how disappointed I am! I cannot believe this made it past Quality Control! Some people may think I'm being petty but I don't think so. You shouldn't have to fix the edge on a new knife that you just paid $100 for. I've bought novelty knives for $5-$10 that had 100% better edge than this. If anyone asked my opinion, I would tell them to buy a KA-BAR brand. These were the best pics I could get with my camera. I think they show the burrs on the lower part of the blade but the ones on the upper part of the blade wouldn't show in the pics but you could definitely feel them with your fingernail.Read full review

I put four in the Corp many moons ago, always wanted one of these fine blades, so I bought myself a seventy-fifth birthday present. Very nice knife.

this is a viable alternative for the kbar. same thing, but more defined grip grooves. i like the natural coloring too. i now have both and i actually like the case better. it also pairs up better with the air force survival. no problems with the quality.

CASE XX quality is so much better than Ka-Bar and Ontario Knives. The price is higher, but the quality, attention to detail, fit and finish is MUCH better. You get what you pay for.

Knife is well built, full tang with a tight hilt. Leather grip handle is perfect. Leather sheath is real leather and not some imitation cowhide. Leather stamp imprint of USMC is quality one.

The knife is true Case quality. Only issue is that the blade did not come sharp. But, we took care of that quickly.
