Great for tent users
Grommet size is critical when making or repairing tent accessories, like ground cloths. Too small and the poles won't go in; too big and the poles slide right through. Local suppliers tend to carry the same oversized grommet kits, and those won't work for typical lightweight tents. These grommets are just the right size for a number of different tents. The grommets themselves are well made, fitting nicely on the tool and settling securely on the fabric as long as the included instructions are followed. The tools are sufficient for small home jobs. As long as the punch is used against a fairly soft wooden or poly block it should last quite a while, and COULD be filed sharp again when it dulls. The press pieces fit closely enough to push the grommet pieces just right with normal hammer force. Lorde & Hodge are CLEAR on the packaging that this is NOT for production use. If you are making a bunch of tents and related items, this is NOT the right tool. For the rest of us, it's a great bargain!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
