I loved getting my steel pins to use for securing my 5 man military srctic tent. It will be especially useful in the hard ground of winter ice. According to the specs of the manual no other stakes will do. These are very heavy snd can be pounded into the hardest ground where others may bend like stakes which should only be placed and removed by pounding the ground and to make an opening to pull out or pouring water in with them so they freeze to the ground. With these pins no water required.
