  • Awesome ThinkPad, best laptop I've bought

The thinkpad T450 was a good choice for me, just looking to do some minor editing on it and other things like browse the web. I got lucky, and bought a T450 with a 500gb SSD, that was unlisted, quite a pleasant surprise. The shift keys on mine didn't work, but hey, the keyboards for thinkpads are so easily accessible you just can't complain. The battery on mine lasts OK, but not long enough for me, BUT it's used, what can you expect? It's probably been used for years before me. There are also options for batteries to ugprade, so you don't have to worry. Battery not lasting long? All good, you can buy both the internal and external batteries online brand new still, it's great. It's fast, snappy, and just how I like it. Has a fingerprint reader which honestly is pretty useful considering my shift keys don't work, and log-ins are very fast. I got the 8GB model and it's fast, I'm not sure if I even need to upgrade like I initially thought. I also got the i5 5300U model. The keyboard backlight is effective, however the keys on the keyboard are a bit wide, if you got big hands, you most certainly EXTRA love the keyboard on this thing. Still, not a complaint, just an observation. I love the feel of the keyboard. It's got bluetooth support, and WWAN support (mine came with a card already, not sure if this is standard) however, using hotspot was more than enough for me. I drove down the street to my towns high school parking lot and it worked great, so I'm not sure if there is entirely a need for the WWAN, however I understand there are differences in speed between the two. Still works awesome! Cons: the screen. It's not the worst thing in the world, but I got the non-IPS model (1600x900) and it's quite bad. The colors aren't great, and the viewing angle is pretty bad. But honestly it's nothing to really complain again, as alas, the screens are easy to find for thinkpads too. Still would highly recommend to anyone looking for a workhorse laptop, with great upgradability. Webcam isn't the best either, but gets the job done.
