Used this to replace a motherboard that was shorting out randomly on an older gaming computer. Didn't want to have to buy new memory, CPU. This board seems very reliable. No shorts! And, as a bonus, I didn't have to update anything in windows. I would imagine it helps that the old board was also an ASUS. Still, I didn't expect everything to be so painless. Also, it arrived far more quickly than I was lead to believe, which is a nice bonus.

Lets be honest. The motherboard was in very rough shape, more corrosion on some surfaces than expected. Some connectors are slightly bent, but CPU pins are OK. My expectations were not high, it did post, boot, and appears to be running Windows 10 without any driver issues. Given the appearance of the motherboard I do have some concern about its longevity, but for now it has been running without issue for 24 hours. Given the return policy it is a low risk purchase, but this is about as used as a used mobo gets.

I used this original version MoBo to replace a somewhat similar Rev 2.0 MoBo. Windows booted off the original HDD but noticed the new board. Windows did activate though (Family Pack Version) so I did not need to phone Microsoft to activate. Download the manual (not included) from ASUS and check for a new BIOS version.

If you have reason to use an older 4th gen Intel CPU. the mATX Asus B85M-G is a good choice. Sets up quickly and easily with Windows 10.

It was really hard to find a motherboard that was compatible with my cpu and this one fitted my needs exactly. Was really happy that this motherboard was working 100% . Good stuff!
