Yes, it writes at any angle, making it very useful for writing in bed with a clipboard propped up on my knees. Regular ballpoints can't do this. But it's also very well made, all the parts are heavy metal and fit smoothly. It's a pleasure to hold and use. It's very slender, and I have big hands, so it's a bit of an adjustment from some pens I've used with larger grips. With the cap on, it's tiny, about the size of a crayon. With the cap reversed, in writing position, it's a normal length. The writing experience is excellent, particularly because it needs very little "preroll" time before it puts out a solid dark line -- you don't have to make squiggles until it gets going, unlike many ballpoints.
