This is a FABULOUS way to get your iPhone connected to your AUX port and charge it at the same time. I've been using one of these since 2008. The cable finally gave out on my last one after many years of service.

It works great for cars that are older and don’t have Bluetooth. It’s also has a great charger for newer phones that require higher amperage.

Wanted to play my phone through car speakers. Simply plugged unit in cigarette lighter and audio feed and then my iPhone. Turned on car radio and iPhone and I’m groovin!

Do you like to stream music/audiobooks/navigation through your iPhone 7, but drive a car that has an auxiliary jack, and no Bluetooth support for music? If so, this Griffin iTrip Aux and charging accessory for the iPhone 7 and above is exactly the product needed, and as far as I can see from my searching, the only one of its kind to meet this particular need. For that, I applaud Griffin for again being on top of Apple's technological advances that sometimes seem like curve balls. This accessory performs well overall with some expected clunkiness. Pros: 1. You can charge your iPhone 7 and play music at the same time, even though there is only one lightening jack on the phone. 2. Doing #1 above only requires one 12v power outlet with this accessory. 3. The remote control buttons to skip songs, pause and play are way more useful than I originally expected. Now, I don't have to take my eyes off the road to change the music! So easy! Thank you, Griffin! Cons: 1. As most third party accessories do, plugging in the lightening cable occasionally results in an "Unsupported Device" error. The work around is to unplug the lightening cable from the phone, unplug the power plug from the outlet, then plug them both back in in reverse order. Works every time. 2. Alternator noise. Occasionally, the whining of the alternator can be heard through the speakers, particularly if the music volume is down low. 3. When the car is powered off and in accessory mode, the ability to use this device may be affected. I've noticed a difference in volume output between accessory mode and full power of the vehicle. Many vehicles are set up to power things differently in accessory mode, so this may not be the case for everyone. Overall, I applaud Griffin for their foresight in seeing the need for this product as the new lightening-only iPhones were released. I'll still be using mine until I eventually buy a car with better Bluetooth capabilities.Read full review
