I bought this processor to replace an i5-4690K that was overheating (around 88 watts heat dissipation) in a tiny HTPC ITX case. With this processors 55 watt heat dissipation, it immediately booted up, and I didn't have to reload the OS. The cpu temperature was steady and well below the max allowed. With those two wins I was already happy but the performance was a touch sluggish compared to the i5. I went into the BIOS on the Asus motherboard, turned on the turbo setting, and adjusted the fans (still quiet).... voila! Now I have the same perceived performance as the i5, the heat dissipation is controlled (I must admit to changing the thermal paste) and the video is just as good. I'm happy.... this little processor has exceeded my expectations.
