Alexa is Awesome!
I absolutely love my Echo Show. I'm just beginning to learn all the cool things I can do with it. I keep it in the kitchen so I can ask Alexa to display recipes. I use it to make a grocery list & have it connected to my phone so I can pull up the list in the app anywhere I go. It displays accurate weather. And I can view my ring doorbell. It makes my life easier, funner & more informed. I highly recommend the Echo Show!

Aggravation
it’s impossible to set up. I’m not the smartest but definitely not the dumbest and I spent two trying to set it to no avail. Super aggravating. It asked you log on to your account fine then take a code and sign on to another site that doesn’t exist. It sends you to a site for marketing. Long story short I’m sending it back.

A good unit, but doesn't seem significantly different from Gen1.
I don't use the video on these units so I can't comment on the increased resolution of Gen2 over Gen1. Otherwise the unit seems to be pretty much the same as Gen1. I use these units as alarm clocks, radios, and as a full house intercom. They have relatively good sound quality for their size but have a bit too much Bass on minimal setting and not enough Treble on maximum setting. I bought Gen2 unit since it did not cost appreciably more than a gen1 unit and I wasn't sure that there weren't other improvements beyond the video resolution built into gen2. Overall, I still like these units and they perform well for the tasks I assign to them.

Suggest getting a stand or power stand at the same time when ordering a Echo 5 or 8.
The quality is good but the placement of the power jacks could have been better designed and not having to stick out straight from the back.
