I'm a returning customer, these blades are top of the line for me and if you have a mid to coarse beard, this is a good blade to suit your needs. These are so impressive because having coarse beard they last for several shaves; I use them for three or four shaves. Some blades only last for two shaves, these blades glide on my face effortlessly and shave hair like a hot knife through butter. I really recommend them if you don't want something as aggressive as feather in sharpness but with great smoothness. I even liked these more than personna lab blues in regards to sharpness, these also maintain the edge longer for me than personnas. Today, I went to my local barber shop for a hair cut and beard edging. Whenever I get my beard and hair done I give my barber some of my favorite blades. Well, today I gave him an Astra Super Platinum, he asked me right away for the brand. I told them these are called Astra Super Platinum. He told me these are the best blades he has ever tried with a client in regards to sharpness and smoothness. The other day I gave him some feathers and he told me Astra are far better in smoothness and sharpness as well. In fact, he asked me to get him some as soon as I can. He was very surprised how Astra blades glide in your face like hot knife through butter and maintain the edge longer than most blades in the market. Give them a try, for seven dollars a 100 pack, you do not have a whole lot to lose; I am sure you will not be disappointed. Read full review

ASP DE’s have been my blade of choice for some time – ever since I left the much more expensive world of cartridges. A much better shave than cartridges. Smooth -- blade “glides” across my face. Close even shave. 7 days of shaves from a single blade. Each shave 3 passes – down, sideways, and up. Couldn’t really do that with a cartridge. Nicks are pretty much a thing of the past. Merkur 34C razor. Average beard. With the shift of production to India, I gave the new blades a try. Same regime – 7 days on a single blade. 3 passes each shave. Noticeable difference. Less “glide” during a shave. Wife noticed some skin irritation. Nothing major, though. Blades shave close. Are serviceable. But I find the Russian-made ASPs more comfortable and enjoyable. Shaving is a highly personal experience . Yours may differ from mine. One final note - this review in on the product not the seller - who has no control over production of the blades.Read full review

I had been shaving with an old school Shick Injector razor. I got a new razor for Christmas and it used these style blades. I got a package of Gillette Platinum blades with my razor and liked them but looked on line at reviews of different blades. At the awesome price these were being offered at I purchased them. According to the label on the box they are made by the same company at the same location as the Gillette Platinum blades. They are super sharp and give me a baby butt smooth shave. I go six shaves, changing my blade every Sunday morning and I usually don't shave on Saturdays. At one a week I will get almost 2 yrs out of these blades at a cost of under $10. What a deal! I am going to try other blades just because it is part of the fun in the adventure of shaving but would recommend these blades with the understanding they are very sharp. I have not sliced or diced my face but it would be very easy if not careful.Read full review

I would like to recommend these blades to anyone who uses a safety razor in general. These are sharp and smooth at the same time, therefore, no matter what type of beard you have, these are the best deal for your buck. A couple days ago I took one to my local barber and he was just “astonished” to see how sharp these are, and how well they maintain the edge. He admitted feather blades are sharper but not even close as confortable as Astra Super Platinum. I like these even better than personna lab blues because these hold the edge longer and feel a bit sharper as well. The only downside is they are made in Russia and not in America. Other than that, I don’t find any other negative aspect about such great blades. Astra SP blades are inexpensive, in case you give these a try; you have got nothing to lose. At $9.98.00 a pack of 100 blades is not bad at all. I really like these blades; I hope you like them as much as I do. Best of luck in case you do.Read full review

Been a DE shaver for 40+ years and have used just about every make and model razor and blade with Shark and Feather being my favorites. With that being said, this is the first time I've used this brand blades. I've used them for about 2 weeks and am a bit impressed. 1952 Gillette; good shave but not as close as Feather but a smooth glide. 1966 Gillette; closer shave than Feather very smooth glide. Parker HD open comb; outstanding shave! Closest shave I've ever had. Better than Shark which I use sole in this razor. No drag or skips, excellent glide and left my face as smooth as my 10 year old grandson's face. These blades retain an excellent edge for 5+ shaves and could probably go 10+ for lighter beards. It is important to try any new blades in several different razors as no 2 are the same and all will yield different results. I recommend these blades as an excellent value with great durability and would be an excellent choice for the new DE shaver as they are fairly forgiving as well.Read full review

Great Blades that stay sharp! I have used other blades in the past but always find myself coming back to the Astra Super Platinum. I use them for 7 days and the blades are just as sharp and smooth on the 7th day as they are on day 1. Not sure I will ever try any other brand blades.

I've been shaving with these for 3 years now; I shave twice per week and change out the blade after 3-5 uses. Once in a while I get one that shaves like crap, but for 11 cents each you really can't beat these! I'm still using my first 100-pack from 3 years ago and I'm on the last few 5-pack boxes so I'll need to order more in the coming months. These kick the crap out of the fancy Gillette disposable razors (not to mention the other brands, too) and I haven't bought any of those in years. Astra has been around for a long time, and I don't see myself changing brands anytime soon.

I can only compare these blades to others I have used such as Gillette, Personna, Dorco, and several others from India. When I first started shaving, I started with Gillette. When I used other blades, I always went back to Gillette. Now, I am talking about the 1980's before the twin blade revolution. During those times, Gillette gave a good close shave and I could literally get two to three weeks shaving on one blade. "Gillette, the best a man can get" was their slogan. At that time, I agreed with them. Moving ahead thirty years, I feel lucky if I can get three good shaves off on one Gillette blade. I can say that they now compare closer to Dorco, which is also a very good blade especially for the price. I have been comparing several brands over the last 6 months as I stated before. My final opinion is that Astra blades gives a better shave and more shaves per blade. I have been consistently getting four to five shaves per blade using Astra. If you look around, you can find a box of 100 Astra blades for under $10.00 and many times with free shipping. A three box pack of 15 blades from Gillette will cost $4 to $7. It does not make sense to pay more for a blade that doesn't perform as well as a less expensive blade. Buy a 100 count box of Astra's and you will be covered for blades for an entire year. And the price beats the Blade of the Month Club. If you use a safety razor to shave with, buy the Astra blades. I do not think you will be disappointed.Read full review

Granted this is only the 3rd blades I've tried but this is a keeper for me. Sharp enough for a nice shave but not overly aggressive. Easy to shave with, I'm impatient and always in a rush & I get a nice shave with these on the go. I don't really see myself using anything else unless for some reason when I run out I can't find these. Other than it looks like I'm sticking with Astra now!
