I'll admit it, there are better blades out there and these are just like the ones that come on the new tractor. They are easy to sharpen and less expensive. Why don't I buy the gator blades? I used too. They last longer as they can be sharpened more so they're probably worth the cost. But I'm 74 now and getting tired of sharpening thicker blades. In the area where I live it costs about the same to sharpen blades as these cost so I'll probably sharpen each once and then dispose of it in my metal bucket. Recycling and reuse is still important to me so when the bucket is full it goes to our local humane society that recycles scrap metal. There's also the idea that if I don't pay enough attention and hit something that bends a blade it's much cheaper using these. When you live in an area with lots of tree roots and rocks pushing up out of the ground it happens quite often. Bought these to save time and money! Poor quality. Both blades arrived with a new shiny red paint coating. Both had numerous scuff marks under the coating and flaking paint exposing either bare metal or primer beneath. I'm guessing these were factory returns or seconds. The degree of sharpness across all four edges ranged from very dull to nonexistent. Only one of the edges had any degree of sharpness capable of actually cut grass blades but only along approximately half its length. I would have returned them but to save time I did what the manufacturer failed to do and sharpened them myself - about 20 minutes..

These blades are pure junk metal is to thin and soft. Put these blades on and started mowing and about 30 minutes later noticed that where tearing the grass out and scalping the yard. Lawn mower started a bad vibration. Stopped mowing pull deck off and one of the blades had bent badly. I didn't hit anything that could have caused this blade to bend. Well I guess we both lose I lost money and you lose a customer. From now on I will only purchase oem products.
