I've searched for this for years and finally....... It is grainy , It's not HD quality as some of the reviewers already admitted. but what do you expect from 60year old film that has not yet been released properly?? WHY?? Something to do with the Gershwin estate,and MGM. Watch in B&W and it will take you back to be able to experience it as when I was a child. Glad I finally got a chance to purchase it. Altho bootleg its worth the 15 bucks.

This classic screen work should have been restored, digitized and re-recorded from the original film stock but instead, the quality resembles a home copied version from a worn out VCR tape. The Blax Film people did a lousy job in copying this video. They didn't even wait until the ending screen until they just pressed the STOP button and ended the recording. Excellent movie - very unprofessional job of transferring it to DVD just to make a quick buck. Garage shop workmanship at best. Two stars for the poor quality recording.

It was impossible to get anywhere else than on eBay. A great movies and wonderful music. While the quality of production was not 100%, it brought back the great memory of having seen it on the big screen in the 1959. What a shame political correctness has seen it nearly disappear. Lee

Sammy Davis,Jr. was such a character in this film! Brock Peters was so evil. Pearl Bailey--what a singer! Sidney Portier could break your heart;and, Dorothy Dandridge was awesome!!This movie takes you back to the New Orleans of long ago. The film quality is not the best---but, if you can get past that, what a treasure!!!
