The STRIKER Plus 4cv fishfinder includes Garmin CHIRP technology combined with Garmin ClearVü™ scanning sonar for a nearly photographic, wide image of what passes below your boat. And the larger screen gives you a better view of what is happening below the boat.
Not sure if the clear view sonar is worth the extra money. The screen is very dark with a black background. I'm using it in salt water so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. If I had it to do over I would just get the Striker plus 4 with traditional sonar. I liked the traditional screen better but maybe I'm just not used to it yet. GPS works great and unit is simple to operate. I lose sonar signal above 20 knots but I can live with that. Overall happy with the purchase without breaking the bank.
The down imaging feature is my favorite! Very clear picture, as good as my much more expensive Helix. I also like the mapping feature because the reservoir I fish isn't installed on other fish finders. This is probably the best fish finder under $200.
