Oki ML320 Turbo is a handy Dot Matrix Mobile Printer delivering crisp and detailed images and files. The 435 char/sec printing speed provided by this black & white model makes it easy to complete any printing jobs with efficiency. In addition, it is capable to network with various devices.
I've had several of these OKI Microline printers over the years, that I use for generating multi-part invoices. The one I just received works perfect, and is as-described.
The first time I turned it on it stayed on for a few seconds then it went off and started smelling of an electrical burn . And there isn't anything wrong with my power surge cord because all my other stuff is plugged in and works just fine. I will never buy a used okidata printer anymore.Could have burned my house up if I hadn't been close by to unplug it.
These high impact dot matrix printers have been around for more than 20 years and almost never fail. I typically get more than 10years life from them. There life can sometimes be shortened with not people that know very little about printers and insert paper incorrectly and cause damage. But even with that they usually can take much abuse. Definitely an over engineered printer.
It's actually an Okidata 320 Turbo and you must unlock the controls with these steps
This is really a re-branded Okidata 320 Turbo that's been re-branded & programmed for Pitney Bowes but you can unlock the settings. To turn this into a standard OKI 320, you need to unlock the panel so you can access the programming features. Do the following steps:
Hold down MENU & SHIFT while turning the printer on.
The MENU light will turn on and you'll now have access to the menu (but it will lock again when you're done.)
To unlock it press GROUP until you get to Set-Up.
Press ITEM until you get to Operator Panel Function
Press SET to change from Limited Operation to Full Operation
Press ITEM for the next item Reset Inhibit and change to No
Now exit as normal, SHIFT-EXIT
