I tend to have blowouts in my elbows of my shirts. I bought these patches to reinforce two of my favorite shirts. They were casual shirts that had many years on them and were quite comfortable. I am sure these patches have a proper use but the adhesive was not of adequate quality to stay in place during washing and wearing once they had been applied. It did not work for me. I think if you were going to so around the patch the edges will stay down and work long-term.
