This unit works fine. It is old technology works only up to Win XP. However I was able to find a driver to allow it to work on Win 7 and Win 8.1. I was able to make a wireless printer out of one that was not wireless. I had another one of these that gave up after being left on for weeks. So I would recommend turning the power off when not in use. Its too bad HP didn't upgrade the software to work on current editions of Windows. But most printers now are equipped with WiFi.
