Considering there are very few models available for beginners at a reasonable price, the Panther is ideal. If you are willing to pay $100 more for this model, spare parts and pro repair is possible. The panther will retain it's value and will be easy sell or trade in the future. (German designed, but made in China.) I don't know if or which higher end models are still being made in Germany. It has great sound when played aggressively or softly. My only complaint is that the bass end can not be played simultaneously with the treble like the German/Styrian style . Ok, no big deal since norteño style isn't big on the bass when played with a drumer and a bass player. I'm sure the Hohner Corona II will play treble and bass with ease, but more pricey.

I never played accordion before and, since I got it, I can't put it down. Nice sound and good quality. A big plus was it came with a case. I really like this accordion.
