This is a perfect counterpart to the more expensive Leatherman Titanium Charge. Like every other Leatherman tool we have, this is very well made, with good attention to detail. It is probably the ideal daily carry utility tool. For the price, there's nothing else really to match its versatility. A very usable knife blade that is easy to get to, and some really sharp scissors. The addition of the bit kit rounds out its capability.

There are a number of multi-purpose utility knives on the market, and the ones that I have seen are OK, but the Leatherman Wave is simply better than the others. Better made in the details and fit, and the various blades are all well made and fit in the unit perfectly. The TSA people must feel the same way, because they stole my last Leatherman Wave out of my checked luggage. I suffered for a year with a substitute, and finally I bought another Leatherman Wave on eBay. I bought a used one, and it was just as good as a new one.
