Bumble bugs in general are great lures for pan fish and smaller bass in slow creeks or lakes and ponds. I’ve caught larger fish with it as well. The pros of this lure are versatility. You can twitch it on the surface, splash it with a more aggressive twitch, and also crank it underwater. I’ve caught fish using all three. One con of the bumble bug is that the wings are a bit fragile, be carful not to dash it on a rock or tree. If one wing breaks, it won’t crank right. Here are photos of a few fish using the June bug version of the bumble bug.
