Follow the directions on how to iron on the patch material and it adheres excellently. I used it to repair a tear in a nautical canvas boat cover, and it worked very well. the material is not as heavy gauge as I had expected. It is not as thick or meaty as the old blue patch material moms use to iron on boys' blue jean knee holes, but it is fairly substantial and seems to do the job. I purchased the red patch to match the boat cover, and fortunately it matched almost perfectly. I intend to get make another purchase of the patch in the grey color to address another small tear in another boat cover. i do recommend this patch material.
