I bought two of these, one for our cabin and one for the car. There appears to be something wrong with the plug that goes into the phone. First time I used it the phone was not connecting. I had to take the case off and after a few minutes I figured out that the only way to get a connection was to lay the phone flat and put something under the phone end plug were the red part ends and the black wire starts so it raised the weight of the phone up a little before the charger would connect with the phone. I have not tried the second one as I have the flu so but hope they are not the same. The micro plug is neat and has a light, handy because our cabin has no 120v power and over all is quite beefy so hoping I am missing something. I will update when I get another chance to use it. Wow, this is the charger you need. Incredibly fast. Large diameter wire, robust design with built in led flashlight to see when you plug it into phone. The part that plugs into the car is very strong and feels like it would never crack or come apart. Forget about the charging blocks that you buy in gas stations or markets, they are ALL garbage. Get a real, dedicated charger like this for vehicle use.

Not Original Verizon charger. Wouldn't matter anyway, because they're all made in China to highly varying quality standards, in this case, very POOR QUALITY: The wire contacts inside the male micro USB connector do not accurately line up with phone's female contacts, so these do not charge. Wiggling it around shows a charge symbol intermittently....Are you going to hold it in just the perfect position while you're driving? It should wiggle at all, and should make perfect contact it it were designed and manufactured correctly. Pure JUNK!

Like most cigarette lighter plug-in devices, you might need to slip a little card-board shim along side the plastic barrel to get it to stay firmly plugged in, but that is not a defect in this unit's design -- that's just a fact of life when it comes to these kinds of plugs. The unit works properly, switches up to the QC2 charge mode properly, does not get hot, and even has a little light on the end you can turn on so you can see what you are doing in the dark. (Which also makes a cool coil-corded map light when you aren't charging!) I purchased this device for under $5 making it an exceptional value.
