Some good things about the mouse are battery life and the small transmitter that can also be used for a wireless keyboard as well. I've noticed a huge improvement in battery life over the old Logitech mouse I had. Such a difference, the savings in batteries over the life of the mouse will easily pay for the initial cost of the mouse and then some. It also has an on/off switch on the mouse to save the batteries even longer. What I don't care for is the scrolling wheel. It didn't last very long on my old Logitech mouse, and this mouse has a wheel that feels it will last even a shorter period of time. The position of the forward and back buttons, relative to where the hand naturally holds the mouse, is too far forward. It's like I have to position my hand more towards the rear of the mouse to use the scroll wheel, but then must move the hand more forward to use the forward and back buttons on the side. Also wish the rolled edge around the mouse had more of a radius to it for better comfort. Perhaps it is just me and the size of my hand, relative to the mouse. Overall, it is a basic OK mouse. It's strongest feature is battery life, which is precisely why I decided to purchase it. I would say it is worth the cost, but don't think anyone will be excited over the mouse regarding comfort or ease of use. There are much better ones on the market in that regard. Still happy with my purchase, however.Read full review

This mouse feels really good, and the right and left click are sweet and tight. BUT...the scroll wheel is not smooth and I was not able to find a way to set the side buttons to do anything. I downloaded everything Logitech had on the internet, but their software is USELESS. I really needed the functionality of the side buttons for use in AutoCAD, so I had to go back to my limping, obsolete Microsoft Mouse.

My old wireless mouse came with a large USB adapter, not the Unifying Receiver. It became a nervous mouse and hard to control. I'm not sure if some other wireless device was interfering with it, but I didn't want to go back to a wired mouse. The sale on the M510 made the decision easy. Why not try an updated, but inexpensive mouse. It works great. I like the feature that you can program the buttons. The wheel depressed brings up the Windows menu, while one of the side buttons is the enter key. Thus, just clicking the button is the same as moving the mouse to the "OK" icon and depressing the left mouse button. If "OK" is the default, I don't have to move the mouse ponter, just click the side button programmed as "Enter".....Nice!

I picked up one of these mice for my laptop years ago. It has outlasted that laptop and is a few years into everyday use with a portable tablet PC, and is still going strong. I recently bought another one (used) for my desktop. It works great, and battery life is outstanding. I change batteries about every two years just to make sure they don't leave me stranded or leak inside the mouse, but I've never actually had the batteries go dead in a 510 mouse. Buttons all work great, scrolls well -- and the side thumb buttons are the best thing in the universe, when programmed to copy (front) and paste (rear). (Use X Button Mouse Control free software to set the button functions if your OS doesn't let you.) I hope Logitech keeps making this mouse forever.

Works with Linux fine (I use Arch Linux with the latest (7.6.2017) kernel) - all the buttons work out of the box. Battery life is satisfying - the mouse came with a pair of duracells (even though it is stated that there are no batteries included) which show no signs of discharge after a month or so. Mouse knows when to sleep and when to wake up so it's neither requiring you to click to wake it up nor running all the time draining batteries. Receiver can be hidden inside the mouse which is amazing feature that every mouse must have. On/off switch takes some getting used to to operate with one hand and side buttons have placement that might be uncomfortable for some people. Overall - amazing mouse, haven't had a moment of regret. If you want a larger comfortable mouse that just does everything it's meant to do flawlessly - buy it and never notice it being there and doing its work.Read full review

I bought the Logitech M510 because the touch pad on my lap top is so twitchy. Just the slightest touch and some times I was wiping out couple of hours work. The M510 took care of all that I now have precise control and selection. There was almost no set up, Just plug in the receiver in a USB port, install the batteries, and turn it on. After that it is pure simplicity to use. The roller wheel is great for scrolling pages with out the need to move my hand. I operate the M510 on the cover of a magazine resting on the top of and end table next to the recliner chair. A good product and I recommend it.

For years I have used this model mouse for work and gaming. It's comfortable, good size and easy to use. I have had more than a hundred different types of mice over the years this is in my top 5 easily and ranks number 2.

This is my 2nd Logitech wireless mouse. The first one lasted 6 years without a problem. then the scroll feature quit working. I bought the same model again because I liked the other one with all its features and reliability. In my opinion for the price you can not go wrong. Do NOT be afraid of this because you think it eats batteries..it does NOT ! Average battery life for me is 2 years and I do NOT shut it off when I am done for the day. Bad things ? Can NOT find any. Its a great full size wireless mouse.

I have never cared much for any mouse, floating ball, wireless, optical, etc. so long as they worked I adjusted. However, a new lap top deserved an updated and upgraded mouse and the M510 is highly recommended. I have used Logitech mice previously with no complaints. This time I did a web search at all the usual tech-review sites. The M510 was never the top mouse but it was frequently in the top group. I selected several different brands of highly regarded laser mice, price checked and selected the M510 as representing good quality at a value price. My research time paid dividends as this mouse is fantastic. I am sure there are newer models that are, perhaps, more responsive or include more features. However, the small toggle plug thingy you plug into the CPU is great and the mouse is flawless. Unless you are a tech guru or have money to burn, save some time and order the Logitech M510.Read full review

I have had this mouse almost a year now. It is still on the same batteries & works perfectly. It has all the features I want in a mouse and still functions perfectly. It is comfortable and looks nice. I like the color and the rubber grip on the sides. It has a nice shape. It is very well designed. I highly recommend this mouse.
