This 8GB upgrade went into a Dell XPS 420 desktop system from 2008. Previously, the desktop had 4GB and performed well, but for the price, it was well worth it to upgrade to the maximum allowed memory. I had also replaced the 500GB hard drive with a 1TB and replaced the stock video card with an nVidia.I was able to install Windows 10 with ease. I expect this will last at least until the end of Windows 10's useful life.
