This is a must have item for the weakest part of the lunchbox. The van itself is more unstable than my exwife when her meds run out, which leads to many roll overs. The plastic mounts are what usually breaks first and often. For the price and durability of the alloy mounts, its really a no-brainer purchase for Tamiya's self destructing classic! The Lunchbox is fun, easy to run and even easier to break the mounts off. If you dont have the alloy set, get them! Its worth it!

Only buy this model if you like assembly of rc models and want to bring back memories of your childhood. As an experienced rc modeler, i am used to strong rugged quality materials in my rc cars/trucks. Tamiya uses plastic that breaks easily. This Lunchbox is not made for jumping or bashing or speed. It is fragile, including the body shell. Assembly parts fit like a glove. Manual is very good also. Overall is fun and details are the best, materials used in the production are the downside, just like the 1980s version.

This kit is so much fun, you will not be disapointed. Vintage Tamiya with a touch of modern tech make this little monster truck a fun and easy build. Driving it is just as good as it looks. Plenty of power with stock motor and esc to pull wheelies all day long. Runs great on the tarmac or the dirt. Short grass is no problem for this little beast either. A hard shell body comes with the kit. Plated grill fited for headlamps make lighting this kit very easy and adds to its looks. Plenty of room on the chassis to mount all of your electronics. Packaging of the kit is very nice with parts in boxes and bagged in the typical Tamiya fashion. All in all this is a quality buy so get one and have some fun driving around in your own Tamiya Lunch Box.
These are a must for your Tamiya Lunchbox! It's only a matter of time before you sheer off the stock plastic ones that come with the Tamiya kit. These new aluminum body mounts fit great and look great! I've rolled and crashed my Lunchbox many times now with these new body mounts with no issues. They will probably outlast my truck. Lol!

First of all, let me start by saying this; if you are a gamer, and you identify with the statement "amazing GFX is important for gaming" over "Gameplay(or story) is, and always will be most important." In other words, the LB isn't the fastest, isn't the best handling, it's topheavy, short wheelbase, awful front suspension geometry, etc..but all that doesn't matter, because this truck is FUN, and tough(enough), but if you seriously try to kill it, you will, juat like any other hobby grade rc vehicle. What it does: It makes very cool tire sounds when it peels out on low traction surfaces, higher traction causes abrupt and dramatic wheelies; turning is best done off throttle or braking, Awesomely-detailed body that you'll scrape up immediately.. Mine gets driven, so the edges are beat up..truck is tough though, if you stick with a nimh 6cell and the stock speed control/motor.. I'm kinda thinking of something with a little bit more torque, but honestly, the stock units are well matched to the chassis capability.. If you take the time, this model can be made to look amazing, and shelf-able.(Get a beater body from Parma, and treat the stock unit like a baby.. In conclusion, the radio gear and servo you choose should be budget; nothing expensive. This is a fun vehicle, and cool to assemble. I may get another, so they can be buds.Read full review

Its a great lil bugger. It bounces alot, but that's what makes it fun. Its short wheelbase makes it a wheelie king. its strong but yet somewhat speedy. My only thing about the design is the body mounts. But they hold up pretty well. Fun to build.

amazing lil van, i had an absolute blast building this thing, and even more fun bashing it! I've rode this thing hard and put it away wet, and it still keeps ticking. i would recommend this to any avid r/c builder and father that wants to have some good bonding time building this!

I simply love My lunchboxx monster van. Got a super great deal.I have 3 of them..I'm gonna keep ttus one on my display shelf until I kill the other two which has been so far IMPOSSIBLE TO DO!!!! I have one and I gave the other to my 6 yr old son to play with and we give umm hell every time we play with them, and roll them ,flip them , jump them and they keep on going.. Its a wheelie monster... Lots of power running a Lipo battery pack in it.I suggest getting the hop up's that are available for it..it looks great with a truck body on it to.. Old school fun.. Made new and improved!!! A must have for any r/c hobbiest..

the model itself is great and good as long as you don't run into things. the hard plastic parts have no give like other more pliable plastics so if you hit something it runs the risk of breaking.
