Have had KATO before with another complete train set. Their connections are sturdy and solid. No second guessing if you train will run or not. Love the road bed too. One other thing is that you have the ability to add to your set if you want with a myriad of different options for whatever you want. Another plus is the addition of a power pack with some of the sets. Mine also came with one. You can't go wrong with any of these sets.
