After falling prey to knockoffs sold by normal-looking eBay sellers (twice, I'm ashamed to admit), I purchased it directly from Rosetta Stone, Ltd. I live in southern California and work in a medical profession. Knowing Spanish would be a benefit for the patients and for me. Learning a new language is hard. I’ve tried a variety of different programs and even taken a class in medical Spanish. Nothing I tried before compares to the Rosetta Stone program. The live, interactive sessions are incredibly helpful. The program itself is deceptively simple and intuitive to use. You don’t realize how much and how quickly you’re learning until you stop and look back at a past lesson. I'm astonished at the effectiveness of the Rosetta Stone program. I spend between 30-45 min. an evening with the program for the past few weeks. Already I find myself automatically practicing Spanish, without having to translate in my head! For example I’ll be headed to work and think “los árboles son verdes” when I see some green trees. It's great to use my new vocabulary without having to pause and wait for the bridge to form between the English and Spanish words. Anyone who has tried to learn a new language knows the frustration of thinking in your mother tongue and hunting for the word in the new vocabulary. Rosetta Stone shortcuts this step and significantly reduced mental translation time for me. The only drawback I can see is the cost. I've been using for a week now, and I love it. If you are someone who has problems memorizing, this is your product! The visualization that this product uses is just more effective. It's in an easy to use format. I like how you can enable/disable the voice recognition-some days I just want to practice,and I am in locations where it's not appropriate to use that function. Love it! Well worth every penny!
So far seems to be a great learning tool! I have just returned from taking an Intro to Spanish course in Barcelona, Spain and this product seems to sum up and review my skills quite nicely. It is very organized and strategically teaches you how to understand the language successfully.
I used this product through the first level. Spanish the latin Am.version then the second was for Spain also the rest of the levels. I didn't get a headphone that had a mic on it so I had to buy one separate. I had nothing but problems buying this item the listing was taken down three times and I had to get my money back. Pay more and buy from an authorized dealer

The program is great. I bought it from the actual company. This ebay purchase of rosetta stone was horrible. It was a bootleg copy and I went through hell to get my ebay/ money back. If you are gonna spend money to learn a new language, buy direct.
