The FX series of rods was created for anglers of all ages and skill levels. These versatile rods cover a wide variety of applications and lengths, perfect for any stream, river, lake or light saltwater applications.
Product was fine out of the box. I have it set up, but it hasnt been used yet. So in fairness, I cant rate it. I bought a smaller, lighter (5'6") version of the same line (Shimano FX) a year ago for an 8 yr old. The inner ring of the tip guide failed and popped out. I like Shimano rods. I have 2 of my own for surfcasting and closer inshore saltwater use. So, I'm optimistic that this rod will perform as expected.
A couple of years ago, I ordered the BaitCast version of this rod. I can’t seem to get the timing down on casting them and so I put a spinning reel on it and immediately liked the balanced feel when casting. I wanted to add another rod to my collection and saw this spinning reel and couldn’t wait to order it. It doesn’t des not disappoint.
I will be using this rod as a worm rod. The rod is well crafted. It is balanced and has a good feel. It is firm enough for a good hook set. I will also use it for large swim baits. I now own two of these rods.
