Quiets down a noisy drivetrain for sure
So, using this stuff compared to my own 3:1 mix of Odorless Mineral Spirits with Mobil 1 5w-30 Synthetic motor oil, it seems about the same in terms of cleaning ability and keeping the drivetrain clean. Statement based on my results of using it on my expensive racing bikes, which honestly, are so maintained it's almost impossible to have a bad product on them since I clean and lube them often. Better test for me was to take my commuter bike, which is NOT well maintained, sits outside in rain sometimes, etc. It's a converted singlespeed mountain bike, drivetrain is well worn but does what I need it to. It was in need of some TLC, so I followed the directions on the lube bottle and applied, spun chain backwards for a few, then started wiping. I did this twice, the chain was pretty dirty. No rust, just dirty. Let it sit overnight, just by chance, not because I care that much (instructions say to do so). Next morning took the commuter bike out and the drivetrain is absolutely quieter than my own homebrew stuff. I can't feel any pedaling energy being saved and I doubt anyone can, however the noise factor is definitely different. Seems pricey for lube though unless it lasts really long and stays cleaner than homebrew. I'll see how it holds up long term on the neglected commuter bike. When your really dry and need the lube...!
I love this lube it's great at cleaning and leaving just a small amount of oil film from this lube where you need it.. The only reason I did not give it the full 5 star count, is because I let it sit on my work desk for a day and the next day when I came back it had separated over night so I took a star off.. But when shaken and applied to you chain and wiped off after spinning your chain for a while It will leave a slight film of oil, and that is what you want after cleaning the chain... QUALITY BIKE LUBRICANT
I am not so knowledgeable about bicycle lubricants. I just know it's not a good idea to use WD 40 for the chain and other movable parts. However, I think this gold lube bicycle chain lubricant is doing its job. Not only does it help the parts move well, but it also cleans. (You do have to wipe it off when cleaning.) My go-to lubricant. Love how clean it keeps the drivetrain. I have been using this product for almost a year and haven't found any downside yet.
