High quality product and strong motor! 4x4 works great, suspension and steering also great! However, not made to be used in the road or hard surfaces. We learned that the hard way and now ours has multiple cracks on the chasis... now, we only use it in the back yard. Yes! I will recommend this product to a friend!

Keep it away from water and don't crash
Fast, durable and can be upgraded. Has a connection on the esc for lights, as well as holes in the bumpers for 5mm leds. The transmitter has a button to activate the lights. The esc can be moved to the center support to make room for a larger battery. It seems the shocks can hold oil, but do not come filled. This rc car is hobby grade, so you can easily upgrade it to brushless and change parts. The wheels are 12mm hex. The servo looks really cheap, so probably should upgrade it with something a little stronger with metal gears for durability. Transmitter only takes 4 AA, I suggest rechargeable NIMH batteries. The response time of the transmitter is great, it's easy to control the car after some adjustments. I suggest adding a gyroscope to keep the vehicle straight and to aid in drifting. The shocks do not hold oil, even if you add an o-ring, thin grease works well though, maybe even a very thick gear oil. No water damage even after running it through puddles. This R/C car can use a very large lipo if mounted along the center support. (you may need stiffer springs on the shocks to hold the weight of a large battery) After a minor crash, an A arm snapped and the driveshaft is now in orbit around mars. The car became unresponsive after the crash and the lights just flash. I suspect the esc is not splash proof. Back to Redcat, I shall go. Upgraded esc to 30 amp 3s, motor gets very hot but doesn't smoke or give off a burning smell after long speed runs.Read full review

The controllers multiple adjustment is very nice. The charger and battery work well. The charger takes up to 4 hours to fully charge the battery from 0. It's a trickle charger so it charges slow and will not stop charging even when the battery is fully charged. So keep an eye on the charge when in use. The car is good out of the box, but there are issues out of the box as well. The main issue is the controlability. The car likes to spin out at high speeds with any kind of turning input. The car doesn't like to stay straight as well. Even with adjust the controller. This is due to the weak servo and springs (without shocks). The servo has a hard time hold a tight turn. It's not strong enough to hold a straight line as well. A servo upgrade is a must. JX PDI-2504MG 25g model servo is a good choice. Though I'm finding this one is still a bit weak when letting it straighten itself after a turn. The shocks or lack of is next. Out of the box the suspension is a non-oil shocks, so it relies just on the springs. Which is too springy. The weight shift on the springs bounces the car around and makes it easily spin out. Remo offers upgraded oil shocks. I recommend changing the oil to a heavier weight oil. The shocks are adjustable in height as well. After those 2 upgrades the car is pretty solid.Read full review

Fun, fast car.
