While after nearly 20 years of use, reading mechanism is starting to get iffy and dislikes some of the discs, given the age that's an amazing durability. Sound quality from this toy is still clean and powerful like on day one. Unlike newer models R909 and N910 it keeps treble under control in MegaBass 2 setting, so while it adds a considerable punch in bass department, it doesn't make treble hurting your ear drums. This is incredibly slim and sleek recorder, though adding an external AA battery adapter adds some bulk. Body is all metal and very tough. Display is not illuminated but a remote controller comes with it which has illumination of the display. Only thing that personally bothers me is the navigation. The top right rocker is for previous/next track. But... to me it should be clockwise move to next, and counter clockwise move for the previous track. However here it's the opposite. Other than that - no complaints. It's a great recorder (from microphone, analogue or optical digital line in), fantastic player, tiny, light and just perfect sounding product.Read full review
