I got this as a gift for my wife to replace her empty, small starter kit container. She just loves Bare Minerals, but the pricing is high compared to some other mineral makeup brands. So, we may give competitor's brands a try next time. The good thing is that it goes a long way when used properly, so the cost per year isn't bad - especially when purchased from a discount seller on eBay as I did. Some users say the new design container makes it difficult to completely empty the container without having to crack it open at the seam. We can't speak to that complaint since my wife just started using this, her first new design jar. We can speak to to the issue of skin irritation, though. While some may say it irritates their skin, my wife's sensitive skin shows no signs of that at all after one year of use. The bareMinerals Mineral Veil is the perfect product for the girl who doesn't like the feel or look of a standard powder or foundation but wants a nice finished base before you put anything else on such as blush, eyeshower etc. Its a great setter product! I NEVER wore any type of cover-up on my face in the past other then a shimmery glistening face lotion to get the dewy effect. After I had my son my skin changed instantly from side effects of pregnancy. I started getting freckles that I wanted covered up most of the time. So I started using a concealer. If you start using concealer you definitely need a product worn over it so the concealer isn't noticeable. Thats when I started using the Mineral Veil and it works like a charm.
BareMinerals Mineral Veil is the only finishing powder that I'll use. It never fails to give the perfect finished look. You can reapply it later on in the day and it looks as fresh as the first application. I won't use anything else but BareMinerals. It's good for your skin, as well. I can't say that about any other kind of makeup.

i love that it locks makeup in place. there hv been times i am in the mtns and didn't remove my makep that night and the next am, my makup is still "all good" it does not last (amount in the bottle) as long as it did in the beginning, then it was feather light which i liked alot better. this seems to dry my skin out alot more. i am not crazy abou the new formulation, heavier. i hate the new lock cap. when u are getting low it sticks in the ridges, and top. and the lock/cap will not come off. so it doesn't last as long. not hypoallergenic anymore either. i hv exzema, i would change but hv been die hard bare esc for over 10yrs. veil now seems to be as heavy as the foundation.i am checking other brands now though.i want thest and most bang for my buck. times are hard.but, will tell yu wait until all make up is complete except masscarra and iy will hold.Read full review
I bought Bare Escentuals mineral veil to re-stock what I had been using for quite a few years. It's natural looking make-up, easy to apply, and feels like you're not wearing any make-up. I don't have a lot of time or patience in putting on makeup.I know nothing about putting on make up. But I have acne really bad.. the only thing i use is a primer, concealer and the mineral veil. I've been using Bare Minerals products consistently for about 9 years. Mineral Veil gives a lovely finish and sets my makeup for the day. You really have to try it to realize the difference.
