This acrylic bagel cutter stand is handy to have around the kitchen. Drop the white plastic base into the bottom of the stand, insert the bagel and cut with the knife blade through the slots on the sides.
The grooves where the knife goes are very loose. The knife does not stay in the groove. I wind up taking the bagel out and holding it in my hand to slice it.
There is no way to grip it without squeezing shut the space that holds the knife. Also, it is made in such a way that the slot is not open unless you slide the knife in, so it rubs against the plastic. In the picture it shows the knife cutting the bagel without using any hands. Where do you put your hands to hold it when you are cutting? It is actually dangerous to get the cut started. I wish I had not bought it.
