This is a fantastic product and I highly recommend it if your camera supports it. It keeps all light from hitting your eyes while you are trying to compose the photo. Also, because it is further away from the camera, you aren't pressing your face up against the screen as much.

1. The rubber is very soft and seems fragile 2. Comparing with hoodman's eyecup, hoodman's one is very scientific in respect to it is elongated in the right direction and restricts the entry of light to the eye, but for this one it leaves open space for light to enter and that affects focusing/viewing thru the viewfinder Other than these, as per price it is affordable and usable.

There are other cheaper alternative third party eye cups out there but I have used the Nikon eye cups for over 35 years and they hold up without cracking and deteriorating. This eye cup completely blocks extraneous light interference to the photographers eye. Is it worth the extra money. IMHO YES! But it's up to you to decide what to buy. I will stay with the Nikon Genuine product for its superiority.

Works perfectly preventing the light in and if it gets in the way packing or anything it push’s in and goes flush. 2 thumbs up.
