I purchased this to replace the Honda original, which pooped out on my 2010 Fit. From what I had been reading, this is a known defect. If you have a blower resistor that doesn't work (fan will only work on top speed), it is mostly likely caused by the blower fan that has broken or worn out bearings, which prevents the fan from moving freely, forcing the fan to draw more voltage and work much harder, which then causes the resistor to super-heat and melt solder. If you take it to the dealer for repair, you will be charged in excess of $400! Here you can spend $30 for a new fan, repair/replace the resistor ($8), and if you have moderate skills in working with tools (or know somebody who does), spend about 15-20 minutes doing it yourself. I purchased this solely based on the price because the Honda Dealership charges over $350 for this part. So far it is working perfectly as a good replacement. Very happy with my purchase. Of course, I'll need to run it for several months to assess the quality. Note: this part seems to be made in China (the box was in Chinese, not Japanese), however, it shipped from Canada and arrived in about 1 week (unlike orders that ship from China and take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive). In my opinion, the fan performance is a little bit different than my original Honda OEM fan. Specifically, I feel that the lowest (1) setting blows a little slower than the OEM fan, and the highest setting (4) blows much faster than OEM. I also feel that whine from the electric motor is a little louder than the OEM Regardless, most people won't notice the difference or will not notice it after using it for a while. I installed it on a 2010 Honda Fit. Replacement takes 15-20 minutes and involves removing a plastic panel followed by unscrewing 3 screws. The screws are hard to reach under the dashboard so it take 15-20 minutes of fumbling around.Read full review
