Everyone should have one or more of these. You wouldn’t expect these knives to be very impressive at the price point but you’d be dead wrong. The handle is a perfect fit, they are razor sharp right out of the box, and hold an edge really well. I have 3 carbon steel models. They are really easy to sharpen to an extraordinarily fine edge. I bought the SS version for the tackle box. I expect it will hold its edge longer but also harder to sharpen but that’s to be expected with SS. The bottom line is Morakniv uses superb steel. The basic plastic handle is excellent. I have a Mora Companion with the compound rubber/plastic handle. It too is comfortable but not as durable and the textured grip on the plastic provides ample slip protection. It’s easy to criticize the sheath. I won’t because I’d buy their knives at this price without one. I also prefer a swivel belt sheath. However the basic provision is perfect for stashing in the toolbox so you don’t get blood on your tools. Mora’s excellence lay in the quality of their blades and makes an invaluable tool affordable for anyone with an allowance or squanders their milk money. Buy one. They do not disappoint.Read full review

I collect some unique, quality knives. Some storied brands have let their quality deteriorate inverse to their price increases. Morakniv produces some of the best utility-grade knives available. Their carbon steel blades are real workhorses that won't rust with minimal care, and the Sandvik steel they use in their stainless models is a cut above that used in many knives that sell at much higher prices. You'll love a Morakniv knife, but won't get too upset if you lose it, since these Swedish gems sell for even less than do most inferior Chinese knives. And if you ever need customer service, it doesn't get any better than Morakniv. They truly go the extra mile.

It is a Mora, and for the Price it is hard to find anything that compares to it. If you live in a humid climate then you would want to get the Stainless Steel like this one. They are a great knife, although they are not full-tang they are like 3/4 tang. If you are just getting into outdoors activities and you want a knife to take with you this is a great choice. It also makes a good back-up knife if you already have one. The handles are a nice feeling plastic with a good shape to it and the blade is thin, but still sturdy. The carrying case is a little cheesy, but it works pretty well.

Moraknivs are simple, inexpensive, and extremely good blades. I feel the Basic 546 is their most durable all around knife. No overmold rubber on the handle to (eventually) wear. Finger guards for increased safety. Sandvik stainless blade for a very sharp long lasting edge, and easy care. Blade length of 3 5/8 inches gives the knife good balance and control. This knife would be a good buy at several times its actual price.
