I like this item a lot. It did not cost much and solved a problem I had with the included adapter that came with my Godox AD200 strobe - which is useless. This ball head lock allows me to attach it to the strobe without leaving a mark and it fastens securely without the strobe swiveling/spinning loose. The lock seems to work well although I'm not sure how long it will last with heavy use. It would be even better if there was a hotshoe mount on the bottom and not just the 1/4 20.

Works ok for small gadgets. I have used it to hold a small field monitor for video. It was a bit unwieldy on the camera hotshoe, hard to tighten enough to be stable. I bought a cheap l bracket and mounted to that. Cranked it down with pliers. I have used it to support camera on the end of my walking stick. It wont support camera in vertical. It is a handy but light duty ball head.
