I first used the HP4260A in 1980 and for another 10 years in the lab. I finally got one for myself in my home shop. Due to the frequencies used in this bridge, it's best for characterizing parts used in designs up to VHF RF frequencies. Parts for UHF and beyond as well as SMT components will need to be tested with more current equipment that is far more expensive. Be sure to get the HP manual and only service it if you have strong trouble shooting skills. The HP4260A was a significant step in bridge design then and still a worthy piece of equipment today.
