If your battery has been replaced, it may have been replaced with a Group 96, which is about 1 1/2" shorter in width, but is listed by most retailers as a "Direct Replacement". The correct Battery Heat Shield Cover for a Mustang with a Group 40 Battery is 4R3T-10A687-A.
