Was missing the original part. Replaced with an off the shelf grommet, it didn't hold up for long. This grommet works way better. Just remember to use some type of non solvent lubricant because it's a real pain getting it in place. I used Vick's Vapo Rub (the only thing similar to a non solvent lubricant I had on hand). Still a pain but it got the job done. Just get this OEM grommet so you don't have to keep fiddling with your loose prop rod (no innuendo intended).

Great product! Perfect for! Little hard to put in initially (but I think it’s because the rubber is new and kinda firm) but with some energy and tools....I got it in.

Simply put - this is the grommet to hold the hood prop on a variety of Subaru’s. Install the grommet into position first, apply small amount of grease to the prop rod, place it into the installed grommet. Done! The grease will prevent the rod from turning the grommet and tearing it.

This grommet does exactly what it is supposed to do, it supports the hood prop. It takes a little persuasion to get it in but once it's there it does it's job. I would recommend it if yours is broken or missing.
