I've have gen 1 Driveracks for over 10 years now. Wonderful speaker system processors if you know what their limitations are: crossover, some parametric eq per band, basic limiter per band and a graphic eq. The new DRPA2 has much better filters, far better UI (because of the ipad/android support), more filters and a good auto EQ. I don't use any sub harmonic synth or feedback functions.
Is it worth it? For me, I use all passive speakers and a driverack in each amp rack. All speaker combinations are stored so no repatching. turn on and go. For a powered speaker user this may be redundant, depends if you need auto eq or any feedback killer. Be careful as with any device like this, you can ruin a good sounding system quickly if you don't know what you're doing
I have purchased 2 of these units for 2 different sound system builds one stationary and another in a mobile unit. All I can say about this is once you have it you’ll wonder what you di without it. The sound quality and enhancement to my audio system was upgraded to such A higher standard that it totally erased the need for me to buy an external EQ. Actually this unit has a built in EQ that is fully customizable. AND adds subharmonic feature that will totally bring your low end sound (subs) to life! I cannot say enough about how great this device is. You have to experience it for yourself, definitely worth every penny I spent on it!
Would reccomend to anyone who have a PA system . With all the features it comes with makes it a masterpiece . I never regret the day I bought it excellent product.
I hesitate to say just how versatile this is and let everyone know my secret but I already have 2 of these and a pa+ so im not worriied about the price going up.The software is junk.Cannot get it to work on windows nor android-at allI get a microphone error with my lab calibrated mic and it will not work at all despite it being correct voltage.I guess they really want to sell you the DBX mic.BUT,manual settings are versatile and have excellent sound quality- superior to most other parametric EQ boxes and on amps.As a crossover its divine.Okay now you know the secret.
