My tests confirmed that the foam surrounding the mic provides a great screening effect, deflecting sounds and room reflections a significant amount. In this respect the results are no less effective than when using a conventional screen, and with the Eyeball there's actually more screen coverage at the sides of the mic (as well as above and below) where other models are still very sensitive. Another design plus point is that having a snug-fitting pop shield like this means there's no path that allows air to leak around the edge of the screen. Overall, the Kaotica Eyeball was worth the investment and I will continue to use it in all of of my recordings even if I am in an acoustically treated room. It is a great buy and I have recommended it to friends and musicians alike who are searching for a fix to recording in disruptive environments. For less than $200, it’s definitely a wise investment to make.Read full review

This is to supplement your soundproofing not replace it. If the room is too bright, you will have to treat it in conjunction with using this. That’s how I optimized its use.

I was skeptical at first because I didn’t get how a little foam ball could do so much for my recordings at home! Being locked in the house during quarantine is so hard because I couldn’t get to the studio so I got one of these and now I don’t have to go back to the studio at all! Now I just invest would-be studio money into my OWN studio!

So far, so good. I’m new to mixing so I don’t have much to say!
