It takes a while to heat up and to cook. It is also non stick and easy to clean on the top but not the bottom which is bare AL and has small raised grooves where grease and marinades can collect and needs a brush and scrubbing to clean if you don't want to take a chance on flies, ants etc. going after it. On a flame grill you can sterilize the cooking surface and kill bacteria quickly but this doesn't get hot fast and would take a while to do that.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
