I installed this on my Campbell Hausfeld compressor from the 80's, If fit just fine and works as intended. Only time will tell how long it will last in operation, The cut-in and cut-out pressures were easy to adjust. While the original part was housed in metal this unit has a plastic cover. One thing that was not expected was that this unit has a female pipe thread for hookup as seen in the auction pictures and I needed to go to the hardware store to get a small threaded male coupling pipe. I could have used "close" but opted for 1".so the unit stands off the compressor port a little, which made the installation a tad easier. I did not take my compressor switch off prior to obtaining this switch unit so that was my error.

Appears to be well built. Used it to replace my failed pressure switch on a small shop air compressor. I was able to use the existing head pressure release hose by removing coupling nut and compression sleeve then using nut included with pressure switch with the original compression ring. The fit was not perfect and lightly leaks but only when compressor runs, so it doesn't affect the overall operation. I did have to slightly bend the little arm that operates the release valve as it did not contact the tip of the release valve to dump the head pressure when machine shut off but it works flawlessly now. The major drawback to using this switch was the fact that there is only one pressure port and the original had multiple ports. I had to get a 4-way plumbing tee, a standard tee and several short pipe nipples to add the over pressure safety valve, the new pressure switch, the tank, the pressure gauge, and output regulator together. The air compressor operates as well as it ever did now and saved me a fair amount of money over replacing the entire unit. I am very happy with the results even with the additional work required. This is a replacement on-off compressor switch for my Speedair air compressor. The Furnas brand original switch on my 35 year old compressor wore out the contacts in the on-off switch and I had to replace it. I looked on line and the reviews for this switch were OK, and it was much less expensive than a new Furnas or Square D switch, so I am giving this one a try to see just how long it will last. For the price, I can replace several of them for one of the original ones. It will just be a hassle switching them out should this switch not last too long. It would be much more convenient to be able to buy just the replacement contacts for the original switch, but I could not find a set of replacement contacts, and I had to buy the complete switch. I know how to remove the contact block and hold the spring loaded unloader valve in place to reassemble it, so it would not be a problem to just replace the contacts if I could find them. With the throw-away thinking of today's mentality, the switch companies want you to have to buy a complete switch, not just replacement contacts. Only time will tell if it will last. Stay tuned on that issue.Read full review

I put this pressure switch on an older Sears air compressor. It was easy to install and works perfectly. The compressor comes on and shuts off exactly where it's supposed to. The pressure is easily adjustable with instructions under the cover if needed. I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone.
